When you refer one media text to another media text through genre, mise-en-scene and other conventions.

In the 1980s after mini-films were created as the first form of a music video.

4) What launched in 1981 and why were music videos an important part of the music industry in the 1980s and 1990s?

MTV was launched in 1981, which created a platform where music videos could be sold and be a big part of the music industry

5) How are music videos distributed and watched in the digital age?

In the digital age, self-promotion is popular as bands maximize profit for record labels and companies

Denotation and connotation

Denotation & Connotation blog tasks: advert analysis Denotation: There is a boy, who is sitting in a chair. There is also a hut and trees in the background. Connotation: The boy in the advert looks upset about something and since there are huts in the background, it suggests that the boy lives in a poor environment which connotes that he is living in poverty. Additionally, the boy is wearing dirty clothes, which suggests he hasn't showered or changed clothes in days. Analysis: The dirty clothes show that they don't have a high supply of water, which is why they are advertising as of the sign that says 'water aid' . Furthermore, in the background, you can also see very dry land and no sign of water whatsoever. The dryness in the area also suggests dehydration, not only for the boy, but also for the environment, which means that, unless it rains, the trees will eventually die and so will all the people living there.   Denotation: In this advert, you can see a man bein

Camerawork blog tasks

  Blog tasks: 1) Pick  three  camera  shots  from the Doctor Who scene and explain what type of shot it is and what meanings or effect they have on the audience. The shot that is an extreme close-up of the electric energy supply that they used was very significant as it was emphasizing the energy and power that they used to create the experiment they did. It also successfully informs the audience that something tragic is about to happen next. The opening medium shot examines the character's upper body and their following actions. This highlights the fact that the character plays an important role in the scene since they start the scene with this character and seeing that the character introduces them self already to be known, it just proves the point further. Towards the end of the scene, the directer shows us an over-the-shoulder shot when the character is on one of their many computers trying to figure out a way to help the others with their experiment on how to call the doctor.
