Denotation & Connotation blog tasks: advert analysis Denotation: There is a boy, who is sitting in a chair. There is also a hut and trees in the background. Connotation: The boy in the advert looks upset about something and since there are huts in the background, it suggests that the boy lives in a poor environment which connotes that he is living in poverty. Additionally, the boy is wearing dirty clothes, which suggests he hasn't showered or changed clothes in days. Analysis: The dirty clothes show that they don't have a high supply of water, which is why they are advertising as of the sign that says 'water aid' . Furthermore, in the background, you can also see very dry land and no sign of water whatsoever.
